Are you in for a romantic journey? Do you want to experience a unique tour that will remain in your memories for several years?
That’s why we propose you our Sintra Tour. This journey is tailor made for the romantics, for the couples who want to feel the beauty of Architecture and Nature. It’s about merging in a sensible equilibrium the best of both worlds.
Thirty minutes after our departure we get to our main destiny: Pena Palace (Palácio da Pena), a 19th century Romanticist castle on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains. Considered as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal, the palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most visited palace in our country.
This palace inspired by the Neuschwanstein Castle, of Ludwig II from Bavaria, has some influences of Manueline and Mourish architectural styles and is the major work of king Fernando II. A German prince which became king of Portugal by marriage with the queen Maria II.
We also will have time to stay at Sintra for a while, the necessary for the lunch, to take pictures and explore some of the medieval streets. But we can’t be too long, because we have another destiny: Cape Roca (Cabo da Roca).
This cape is the westernmost point of continental Portugal and Europe and is, like Luís de Camões said in “Os Lusíadas”: «Aqui, onde a terra se acaba e o mar começa… [Here, where the land ends and the sea begins…] ».
In the Cape Roca, known as Promontorium Magnum by the Romans, there is a touristic shop and a magnificent lighthouse that adds a poetic sense to the sea view…
In the end… we have to return to Lisbon. It’s time to our driver/guide to take you back to your hotel room and let you rest from this extraordinary romantic voyage.
